Warm Quinoa, Apple & Date Porridge

Ingredients

1 cup Three Farmers Golden Quinoa

2 ½ cups milk of your choice

small pinch nutmeg

large pinch cinnamon

4 medjool dates, chopped

1 grated apple (red, if you prefer your breakfast sweet)

natural yoghurt

handful chopped pistachios

handful chopped pecans

One of our favourite starts to the day, this porridge is extremely nourishing and is a simple recipe that can be adapted to your taste. 

Rinse Three Farmers Golden Quinoa in cold water. Place in medium saucepan along with milk, spices and dates. Bring to the boil then reduce heat and slowly simmer until liquid is absorbed and quinoa is tender. (Approx 15 min*)
Stir in grated apple & top with a good dollop of natural yoghurt and pistachios.
Add extra milk if desired and enjoy this wholesome start to the day!
NB. We love this recipe and change it according to the season; sometimes we leave out the spice and add a 1/2 teaspoon vanilla; or omit the apple but top with berries or banana slices with a sprinkling of chia seeds and toasted almonds.
The sky’s the limit with this one.
